Should you no longer be able to take part in the 2026 Kindling by ChemChamp, for whatever reason, you can either cancel, defer into the following year or find another rider to take over your entry.

CANCELLATION OF RACE ENTRY

To avoid cancellation fees, we recommend you do a substitution.

Should you wish to cancel your race entry, the below fees apply. Please note that fees for cancellation of Optional Extras are in addition to fees for race entry cancellation:

• Before 1 February: ZAR 1 000 or transfer your entry into 2027 (riders are liable for any difference in entry fee)
• Between 1 February – 1 March: ZAR 3 000 or transfer your entry into 2027 (riders are liable for any difference in entry fee)
• After 1 March: Cancellations and requests to transfer into 2027 received after 1 March are strictly only accepted if we can fill the spot with another rider. Should the cancellation be accepted the applicable fee is ZAR 3 000. Riders are liable for any difference in entry fee if granted a transfer into 2027.

We highly recommend that riders take out private travel insurance to cover any cancellation costs.

No refund will be payable if a rider’s entry is cancelled by the race organisers due to ineligibility under the race rules (e.g. being found guilty of a doping offence, not meeting the necessary age requirements, international riders purchasing a ZAR entry).

SUBSTITUTIONS

If you have a rider that is taking over your entry, the financial transaction between you and the other rider is private, i.e. it is between the two of you to agree on the price. You can email [email protected] with the details of the rider that you wish to transfer your entry to.

Any substitutions after 15 March attract a substitution fee of ZAR 750.

Please note that we will do our best to update any personalised items to the new rider, but this cannot be guaranteed and a generic item might be provided instead.

Cancellation of Optional Extras

The rules for cancellation of optional extras apply regardless of whether you are only cancelling the optional extra, or in connection with cancelling your race entry.

Until 1 March: Full refund less 10%

After 1 March cancellations are only accepted if the package can be resold.

EVENT CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS

If the event, or any part thereof, is cancelled, postponed, shortened, or modified in any way, or if any of the amenities, goods, or services in relation to the event are no longer provided, whether due to force majeure, legal restrictions, disputes, safety reasons, failure by service providers to perform, or any other reason or cause, the entry fees and all other fees paid will not be refundable.
